This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Hello and welcome to Shine. Today is a thankful thought. And as I reflected on this past week, I've really just been so blessed to hear the spirit a little bit more clearly, many moments where I think I was able to clearly see people who need to be seen, hear people that need to be heard. As you know, I spoke about the other day the young uh waitress who was in need of prayer for her mother. Um, for those of you who follow me personally on social media, on uh Facebook, uh, you saw how the spirit guided me to go buy pizza sauce and run into uh a previous patient of mine who um was just an incredible uh spirit and who I knew for over 20 years and happened to run into her at the local county market and we had a beautiful moment. There were many times where I was gentle and patient when maybe I did not have to be in situations this week. But my favorite moment was when my friend, my sweet friend Melissa, asked me to pray for her. Um many of you may have listened to her interview, and I will repost it. Um she was a previous nun, and I guess in my perspective, who has a clearer connection to God and a prayerful life than someone who has lived that life? So when she asked me, I was really taken aback, like, wow, you think that my prayer is gonna be heard? Um you think my prayer is gonna be meaningful and that God will be moved enough more so than your own prayer. Um I was like, wow, I'm a little honored, um, but at the same time humbled. I am always completely humbled when someone truly asks me uh to pray for them. And especially because I don't think I'm necessarily a great prayer. I don't know if that's a word. Uh I just made it up. Because I don't feel that my words are as eloquent maybe as others. Sometimes I fumble for fumble and stumble for the right words, uh, more so than others. But I humbly hope that it's not the words, but it's the intention of my heart, which we know that's what God sees and is moved by. So I am humbled when people ask me, and as you know, the old folks used to say, we all need to pray for each other because we all need them and we all need the practice, that's for sure. So thank you, Melissa, for your humbling request of prayer. Um I encourage you all to listen to her um incredible story and interview. I will post it um on the show or just repost the interview. Um and I hope that you as well will ask others to intercede for you. Um not just in times of affliction and uncertainty, but even praying for each other in times of joy. Because we know in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 16 through 18, that is what we are here to do. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
