As we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our country , lets also celebrate the Freedom we have thru Christ
Galatians 5 :1
This little light of mine. I'm gonna let it shine. Hello and welcome to Shine. And today is actually July 3rd. And for many of you, um, I hope you are starting your 4th of July weekend and holiday as well as your celebration for the 250th anniversary of celebrating, you know, America. Yeah, I'm definitely thankful for the freedoms that I am awarded or we are awarded, such as freedom of speech, as well as freedom of religion, because we know there are many places still on this earth where I could not be speaking as I am to you on a podcast, or I could not carry a Bible, or proudly or loudly say I am a Christian, so uh definitely thankful for that freedom. And whenever I hear that word and I think about scripture, I always go to Galatians chapter 5, verse 1. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. And I think about the freedoms that Christ has given us just spiritually, the freedom from sin by his sacrifice and by his forgiveness, the freedom to live a life of peace, not saying that our lives will always be comfortable, or they're not, there may not be, you know, conflict, but just saying that as we put our trust and faith in Him, we should have the freedom of peace knowing that whatever we are going through, we will get to the other side. We have freedom from being burdened by a yoke of slavery, and I think of a yoke of slavery of anxiousness, of fear, of idolatry. For many of us, that can look in different ways, whether it's money, uh, work, status, um, all of those things we can be free from, free from that life, which is truly, let's face it, not fulfilling, but free from a life that takes us away from our Lord and Savior. So I hope as you're um doing your sparklers and you're um looking at the fireworks and uh eating your uh barbecue and picnics and celebrating the freedom that we have here in our country. I hope that you are also mindful of the freedom that we have through Jesus Christ. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
