This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Hello, I'm your host Nicole Florence and welcome to Shine. This week we've been talking about how do we reset ourselves after a period of rest? How do we allow that restoration to change us and help us walk more in alignment with the spirit? And one thing that can be helpful is that the reset can change our mindset. I know many times we talk about perspective and you know how even simply changing a word can change uh your perspective, you know, instead of I have to pay my bills or I have to go to work or I, you know, have to take my kids, you know, whatever, you know, we sometimes will try to change our perspective and say, I get to pay my bills, I get to have a house, I get with the understanding that we are changing our perspective and our mentality uh from a burden into a blessing. And part of that period of restoration that I am learning is to go even a step further. And throughout my day, what I try to change in my perspective is saying God has allowed me to do, God has entrusted me with a certain responsibility, God has purposed me to be in a moment, and that is such an incredible shift, I know, for me, in remaining centered in his presence and reminding me of not only his love for me, but the unique purpose. When I came back from vacation, um you know there's a lot going on with my loved one in the wilderness, as we talked about, and it can be very difficult to remain in that position of gentleness, kindness, patience, right? Self-control. But what I have learned is that mindset can change anything, everything. So instead of saying, I can't believe I have to deal with this, I don't know what to do, or I don't want to deal with it, right? Um, I have really learned to change my mindset into saying God has entrusted me in the love and care of this person on earth. And when I do that, it really kind of allows me to be more centered through God and the Spirit and my words and my actions. When we go back to work, for example, and I kind of got um a wonderful week of rest, but then unfortunately, this week has been a little bit more um you know time consuming. There's been some challenges in that you can get yourself to a place where you just undo all the restoration and and relaxation that you've had the the previous week. You know, I I could probably undo it within a day, to be serious. But what that reset of your mindset allows you to do is say, God has purposed me for this day. And as I move through the day, when I understand that, I understand that the interactions that I'm having, the spaces and places that I am in changes my perspective, which in turn changes my mind and my heart and allows me to be more guided by the spirit and the purpose that he has for me. So instead of having that, oh my goodness, I have this 12-hour day, or I don't have all the equipment or or things that I think I need to make this day more protective, or I don't feel maybe seen or valued by colleagues or by my leaders. I have learned, especially after this period of restoration, that the changing of my mindset means everything. And then I think about thank you, God, you have allowed me 12 hours today, not three, not four, not five, but twelve hours for me to walk with the spirit, to walk for you and for the purpose you have in me. And that is time that maybe others don't have or don't understand or use wisely. Please allow me to use that wisely today. God, I know that I may not have what I think I need to help others today, but I know that you actually have equipped me with everything I need to touch the heart of the people that I am in conversation with, or um that I have been placed to interact with. And I know at the end of the day that is all that I need. And when I have that understanding, let me tell you, y'all, um the peace and the comfort and the the joy that I have walking within that mindset and understanding that it is like um no other. Because I know that this day is carved out especially for me. So I pray that you think about allowing that reset to change your mindset, and I want to end with reading Romans chapter 12, verse 2. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. I had a long pause after that one, y'all. That that hits where I need to be hit in my heart and in my mind. So I pray that you take a reset of your mindset throughout your day where you can truly appreciate the blessings, um, your your purpose and all that He has entrusted you and only you to do today. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
